Jesus said,
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me."
                                                                             John 14:6

My desire is to deepen your understanding of what Paul wrote in Philippians 3:3-11, and thus, continue to find your life in Jesus.

*Paul spoke of  illegitimate Christians- the false Circumcision.
  Religious people who sought to please and work "for" God in their
  own strength and with their own life.

*Paul spoke of real believers- the true circumcision.  These were
  people reborn by the Spirit of God.  They understood that their
  whole new life was a gift and work of God alone.  No longer would
  they strive in their own energy to try to live life.

*Paul spoke of his former religious life.  He used God and the Bible to
  try to improve his life and elevate it above others.  He looked very
  successful and, unfortunately, would be idolized in many churches
  today.

*After his rebirth encounter with Jesus, Paul considered his former
  religious life as trash.  He knew that it was impossible to seek to
  improve his own self image and find his identity in Christ at the same
  time.

*Paul was now learning to rest and live in the identity of Christ alone. 
  The issue was no longer his performance, but the performance of
  Christ.

*His goal was to know Jesus in all His depth.  He no longer focused on
  himself but on the incredible love, perfection and work of Christ!

*Paul's new identity was Christ Himself.  He was no longer a sinner,
  but a saint.  He was fully loved and accepted by God- just as accept-
  able to God as Christ was.  Amazing!
