My wife, Cathie, and I live in a small town in Minnesota. We moved to this community 15 years ago to start a church- so far this has not happened. Read my article on "The Rantings and Death of a Pastor 'Wanna-Be'" for more on that. We have been caring for foster children for the past 15 years. The last few of those years we have exclusively cared for children with mental and physical handicaps. PATH is our foster agency. We are presently caring for a 15 year-old girl who has cerebral palsy and is developmentally delayed, a 16 year old who is paralyzed from an auto accident, an 8 year-old with a severe brain injury and a 10 year old with a severe brain injury. We adopted our 13 year old, Sheila, who is blind. We have several people who come into our home to help care for the daily needs of the children. Our life is certainly one lived in a "fish bowl". We have struggled to find a fellowship of believers that we feel at home with. As you can tell from my writings I tend to be a prophetic type. I find it very difficult to compromise on what I believe the truth (life in Jesus) to be. At this time, we have decided to discontinue pursuing a relationship with the organized church.
